Rumor has it..... she's a beauty.

Rumor was just rescued from a shelter on Feb 13 and had a very Happy Valenties Day with her foster family . Rumor is very skinny and has a skin condition that is now being treated.  We are very happy to report that Rumor is heartworm negative.  She will be spayed when she is in better health.  Rumor is safe in the home of a BTR volunteer and getting the comfort, food, medicine and love she needs to get healthy.  Thank you to BTR volunteer Debra for rescuing Rumor from the shelter! She is a loving and very well mannered dog that likes to snuggle, put her head on your lap and look up at you with those big BT eyes.

Romping Remy

Remy is a very active BT that loves to play with toys and chase a ball, but he is also quite the snuggle bug!  Remy is tall and athletic and sometimes likes to be the center of attention even though he plays very nicely with his doggie friends Molly and Tex.  Remy has settled into his foster home well and there have no incidents of marking.  Remy will go to his crate on command and enjoys resting in his crate with a chew toy or treats.  Remy is a burrower and will sneak under the bed blankets if given the chance!  Remy will alert his foster family if someone is at the door but he does not try to run out. He loves to ride in the car and look out the window for his BT friends.  Remy likes to run and romp in the yard but he also likes walks on the leash and he walks very well on his leash.    Remy is a beautifully colored BT, his big chocolate eyes will make you melt and so will his BT kisses!   Remy is a loving and well tempered BT that would do best in an active family that likes outdoor activities and/or a family with another dog that he can play with.
Remy has discovered his favorite game and toy, a small kong that he can carry around and drop in his foster family's lap to play fetch. He then goes after his second favorite game, curling up next to his foster dad on the couch to watch TV.  Their favorite shows so far are NCIS and Hawaii 50.

Dancing with Dragonflies

Mandie's owner passed away and she went to live with a family member who could not care for her. Mandie was surrendered to a rescuer in SC who was so alarmed by her appearance that she knew only a BT rescue could help her. Within days, Mandie was transported to CCBTR. At our vet, Mandie weighed in at a shocking 10.2 pounds. The poor little Mandie may be suffering from the condition Protein Loosing Enteropathy. PLE is a condition wherein no protein is absorbed which leaves the dog emaciated. We are treating Mandie for PLE which means a lot more trips to the vet, blood work, lab tests, special diet and medicines. We hope that you will help us help restore Mandie to good health and good weight.

Spring is ready to be sprung and CCBTR wants very much for MANDIE to be healthy enough to dance with the dragonflies in the warm breezes and green grasses of spring! Please help make this a reality for MANDIE by supporting CCBTR's first on line auction in honor of MANDIE!

To help Mandie, go to Coastal Carolina Boston Terrier Rescue

Great Night With Friends for Charity

I Love That Lady dinner
Way back on Feb 23, the four of us attended the “I Love That Lady” dinner and fundraiser. “I Love that Lady” is an organization that rewards and recognizes the contributions that women in Craven County make to the community.  There were lots of items auctioned off and a magician that performed card tricks at everyone’s table.  The food was great and the company was fun, but I really loved the tiramisu cupcakes.
The woman who won received $1000 for her favorite charity and the respect of everyone in the room. It was complete surprise to her and we enjoyed listening to everyone tell stories of the things she accomplished for her charities.  I asked my friend “Do you think she ever sleeps?”
